The MASCO Global Biomedical & Ruminant Physiology Research Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is a prestigious, high-impact industrial training opportunity for exceptional mid-to-early career academic scientists. As a Discovery Postdoctoral Fellow you will lead cutting-edge industrial research on ruminant carbohydrate metabolism, protein utilization, and the optimization of environmental factors in controlled research facilities, bridging academic theory, advanced industrial biotechnology, and global public health policies (including One Health frameworks).
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage in vivo trials under identical shed-controlled conditions to ensure data integrity
- Investigate carbohydrate digestion, rumen-degradable vs. undegradable protein pathways, and cellular metabolic responses
- Communicate findings to cross-functional teams, international collaborators, and public health stakeholders
- Enrich Outcome-Based Education (OBE) frameworks and DVM / graduate mentorship programs
- Present at leading international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Essential Requirements
- PhD or equivalent doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Ruminant Nutrition, Animal Physiology, Veterinary Biochemistry, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications or equivalent research accomplishments
- Strong background in large animal trials and controlled shed-based experiments
- Commitment to academic innovation and pedagogical translation (OBE)
- Exceptional communication and collaboration within global scientific teams

Professional & Technical Roles
Five divisions are actively recruiting. Every role is based on-site within our integrated ecosystem in Venezuela.
Research Scientist (R&D Division)
Drive core scientific research across our recycling units and laboratory ecosystems.
- Design and run studies that improve extraction yields in the Rice Bran Oil and recycling units
- Develop new value-added products from bagasse, banana fiber, and organic residues
- Publish internal findings and translate them into operational improvements
Agronomist (Crop Management)
Supervise large-scale sugarcane, corn, and rice sectors using precision agriculture techniques.
- Plan planting, irrigation, and harvest cycles across 3,300+ hectares
- Deploy soil analytics and our own bio-fertilizer program to maximize regenerative yield
- Coordinate field teams and mechanized operations through every season
Veterinary Doctor (Livestock Division)
Oversee health, biosecurity, and nutrition protocols for our poultry, lamb, and cattle herds.
- Manage preventive health programs for 2,500+ cattle, 5,000 lambs, and up to 30,000 poultry
- Enforce biosecurity standards across breeding, dairy, and processing facilities
- Work with the nutrition team to optimize feed and silage formulations
Plant Manager (Processing & Mills)
Direct daily operations within the Auto Rice Mill or Sugarcane Pressing facilities.
- Own throughput, quality, and safety KPIs for industrial milling and pressing lines
- Coordinate maintenance windows with harvest schedules to keep lines running
- Lead shift teams and continuous-improvement initiatives on the plant floor
Logistics & Cold-Chain Supervisor
Manage real-time tracking, preservation, and efficiency within the Meat Frozen Center and Export Zone.
- Monitor cold-chain integrity from processing floor to export container
- Coordinate customs staging and international shipping schedules
- Optimize warehouse flows for frozen, packaged, and bulk products
Farm & Field Workforce
The heart of MASCO is the workforce in the fields and sheds. We are continuously hiring farm labourers, livestock caretakers, and machinery operators. No formal degree is required for these roles: we value reliability, care for the land and animals, and willingness to learn. Full training, fair pay, and safe working conditions are provided.
Farm Labourer / Field Worker
Hands-on cultivation work across our sugarcane, rice, corn, and banana sectors.
- Planting, weeding, irrigation support, and harvest work through every season
- No formal degree required; full on-site training is provided
- Seasonal and permanent positions available across all plantation sectors
Livestock Caretaker / Shed Attendant
Daily care for cattle, dairy cows, lambs, and poultry inside our modern shed facilities.
- Feeding, cleaning, and animal welfare monitoring under veterinary guidance
- Support milking operations and egg collection in automated facilities
- Training provided on modern livestock handling and biosecurity practice
Machinery & Equipment Operator
Operate tractors, harvesters, and processing equipment across the ecosystem.
- Drive and maintain field machinery for planting, spraying, and harvest
- Operate mill, pressing, and packaging line equipment after certification
- Experienced operators preferred; certification training available on site
